Hello all! I will be releasing poll results from now on when we break 1000 votes so that people have had enough time to participate. This time around we asked which console you’d be investing in and what month you believed ESO would be coming out next year. Let’s get… it… on!
The only thing that is confirmed about ESO’s release is that it should be in the Spring of 2014, but that doesn’t keep us from speculating and taking pools on release dates.
Our best place to start would be picking a Tuesday as that is the customary release date for most video games. That being said however, games sometimes release on Friday’s and such was the case for Skyrim which released on 11-11-11 which indeed was a Friday.
The second thing we know is that Spring officially starts on March 20th and ends on June 21st with the approach of Summer. That leaves about 27 high-potential days of release to choose from. There’s probably a great formula some gamer/mathematician/business major has come up with to determine the best estimate for release but I use a simpler method. I guess.
The majority of you chose April which isn’t a bad guess. It’s well into Spring and is probably the most thought of month when Spring is mentioned. March was the second most chosen but I feel this was the impatient bunch as there’s only about a week of Spring in the month.
What’s my guess? Well let’s see. I’m a bit hopeful and impatient myself and wish to see the game out but I also want a complete and polished game as well. Then there comes the date itself. I think it has to look good on a poster like Skyrim’s release date did. Looking at the available dates, it seems the only good choice for me would be April 4th, 2014 or 4-4-14. It’s a bit early into Spring but it looks good and catches the eye. People love patterns afterall and it helps us remember the date.
Regardless of a release date, I think most of us can agree that ZOS should concentrate more on giving us a polished, bug-free, complete and exciting game instead of rushing to meet some deadline. Luckily Zenimax Online doesn’t seem to be the rushing type with the past pushback being a sign of this.
We asked the console question before when we were just getting information about the PS4 and Xbox One. Now that we can actually purchase the consoles, I felt it time to ask again.
To say that our viewers are bias toward PC would be an understatement with nearly half of you saying consoles were for chumps. After that however we find that the PS4 takes the cake for most purchased or wanted console. It’s not a huge surprise as most of you are gaming-centric and the PS4 was designed for the gamer while the Xbox One seeks the all-in-one media center route. I won’t bore you with details on the systems as none of us truly care. It just brings a tear to my eye to see so many PC fans out there…
