End-game in Guild Wars 2 leaves something to be desired. That’s according to our weekly poll. 68% of us aren’t excited about our end-game experience. For MMOs the hardest challenge doesn’t seem to be to get people leveling. SWTOR for example had, what I believe to be, the best leveling experience to date in an MMO. However, that mattered little. Once I ran out of story on my Imperial Agent, so did my interest in the game. Likewise Guild Wars 2 had a unique leveling experience with it’s “the more the merrier” mentality. Suddenly you didn’t care if that other player helped kill your mobs. In fact, you welcomed it.
Suddenly we have players moving around in massive zergy hoards. Double goes for WvW where battles tend to melt down to who has the biggest angry horde. It’s the reason I enjoy myself more in sPvP where being the first to die isn’t so much determined by getting tab-targeted first. Sorry, I bring up WvW because it’s what drove be to reach level cap. Epic large-scale sieges just sounded more epic in my head I guess. I didn’t imagine it’d melt down to the zerg feast it is today. I thought I was going to be able to move in small teams and move behind enemy lines to assist in the war effort. Sure, we currently have the option of doing that, but it’s more sensible to run with the horde.
Anyway, what could ArenaNet do to change our outlook on end-game? Add more story content? Bring Battle Royal back as a permanent PvP map?

Now this surprised me. Every ESO poll I visited that asked this same question overwhelmingly leaned in the direction of the Ebonheart Pact. Fast forward to the same poll on the ShoddyCast website and it’s a deadlock between the Ebonheart and the Aldmeri Dominion. Wtf? I wasn’t aware we had so many Elven fascists following this blog. I’m shocked.
My brother Kyle (TK) is already a sworn Ebonheart lacky, but I for one am very much undecided. Sure, the Ebonheart’s uneasy alliance sounds enticing, but I love playing the bad guy. Out of the three factions which is arguably the baddest? The Aldmeri Dominion of course! You’re fooling yourself if you say otherwise. The Aldmeri Dominion is founded on the belief that since Elves are the oldest race, that they are the superior beings, and every other races should fall in line. An entire faction that believes it has the Divine given right (literally) to rule the younger races under the mentality, “we got here first”. Come on! That’s pretty bad.
26 percent of you voted undecided so here’s something to help you decide.
